The partial discharge meter PXDP-II is a portable device that performs the detection and measurement of partial discharges in electrical devices or components. Registers partial discharge measurements for analysis and diagnosis through optional software for PC. The PXDP-II can be used in several applications and complies with IEC 60270.

The use of the PXDP-II can be integrated to be part of a preventive maintenance program, thus avoiding problems and interruptions of the electrical networks. The PXDP-II is a very precise and flexible equipment. Its system of extension to long bands allows an accurate detection of the activity level of the partial discharges. The meter uses a high speed detection technique which allows the equipment to be very powerful. In addition, it is possible to record the download measurement in graphic or auditory form, with the date and time of reading. The equipment allows you to operate your registry in the same location. The recorded measurements remain in memory even when the PXDP-II is turned off, allowing the transfer of these records to a computer.

Diagnostics under tension at the same site of the analysis:

  • The PXDP-II uses capacitive and inductive probes, which allows the detection and analysis of partial discharges on cable accessories (splices and cable terminals).
  • The PXDP-II uses a two-phase coupler on the circuit breakers for fast and efficient detection of high internal frequencies generated by partial discharges.

-The PXDP-SOFT software allows to manage and visualize records of partial discharges, downloading the readings from the internal memory of the computer to the PC.

-Metal-Clad boards are easily inspected with the PXDP-II and its accessories:

  • The TEV sensor detects the transient voltage rise to ground on the surface of the metal cabinet produced by the electromagnetic waves that produce the partial discharges.
  • The acoustic sensor detects ultrasonic waves produced by partial discharges inside the cabinet. It allows detecting PD in transformers, capacitors, boards, etc.
  • The VIS voltage indicator is connected to the PXDP-II by the two-phase coupler, to detect PD in synchronization with the network phase. It allows the detection of PD in capacitive ports.

-The ULD-401 parabolic sensor in the PXDP-II unit detects and locates the corona effect in any device at high altitude, which reveals the presence of partial and contaminant discharges.

-A capacitive sensor detects PD in cable joints and elbows. The capacitive sensor kit is coupled to the reference module (this module allows you to test the sensor before inspecting the cable). Thanks to the handle that is screwed to the sensor, the user wins in safety.

-The PXDP-II off-line kit allows testing a large number of medium and high voltage devices (such as couplers, cables, insulators, transformers, etc.) to detect DP for off-line testing. Rapidly identifies problems of design, manufacturing or operation, improving the design and reliability of the network (which reduces operating costs when installing reliable devices).

As an optional module, we highlight the synchronization module with the phase of the network, allowing to attenuate the noise (important parameter to attenuate to identify partial discharges). The synchronization is designed for TEV, acoustic, with HFCT, splices and elbows, etc.

 

Detection of:

  • Corona effect: thanks to the parabolic sensor, the PXDP-II captures the emitted ultrasound (dB) and performs a sweep of the area to be analyzed, locates with great accuracy: partial discharges, electric arcs and corona effect.
  • Detection of DP through grounding conductors (HFCT clamps): the HFCT-20 and HFCT-60 sensors are used to detect PD, manufactured to resist abrasion and mechanical impacts in any environment, its design provides excellent insulation against high frequency interference (they measure currents up to 100 MHz).

PXDP-II-LT  VERSION

It is a portable device that allows the detection of partial discharges in cable joints and elbows, circuit breakers, acoustic tests, TEV, rotating machines, etc. It is a user-friendly, versatile, lightweight and portable device; based on PXDP-II technology
The XDP-II-LT has an amplification system of ultra-bandwidth that allows to measure the activity of the PD. The XDP-II-LT shows the PD waveform during the measurement and displays the noise before filtering to help the user recognize PD of the noise (uses a high-speed detection technique).
